Hi there. My name is Shavonne.  When I decided to start this blog, there were several thoughts floating through my head. I thought about what should I say, what should I title it, and what I wanted it to look like.  I knew I wanted to talk specifically about grace, student loans, what I discovered along my journey the past 3 years, and much more.

After sorting through a few good names a friend sent me,  “Grace Is Over” resonated with me. It made me think about how gracious God is toward each of us. It also made me think about how student loans or bills collectors all have a certain window of grace or time they give you to pay, but when the time is up…You have to make payment or risk ruining your credit which leads to another set of issues.

A little over 3 years ago, I set out on an online journey to research methods to help pay back my student loan debt.

In the process, I discovered student loans are a hot topic even amongst conversations I’ve had with friends. If you were to take a poll, I’m sure you would probably find 1 out 5 individuals have student loan debt or they know someone who has a substantial amount of loans. You would also find that there are different segments of individuals that handle their loan debt differently…Some are looking for ways to pay them back,  there are others in major default, there’s a segment of individuals who are being responsible for paying back their debt, and then there are those who continually put their loans in deferment.

There are tons of success stories out there in cyber word, but there were also tons of failed stories as well.

I was one of those people that went between deferments and payments. So, I was basically throwing money away. This time as I personally take my journey from “grace” to continuous “payments” until I have every last dime paid off, my aim is to share my journey and also share snippets of the last 3 years what I learned. Hopefully, what I share will help the next person to start successfully paying off their student loans or someone else not to take out student loans at all.

JUST TO TELL YOU A LITTLE ABOUT ME:

  • I’m a Christian. (so I am oh, so familiar with the “Grace” that God grants each of  us as a human race)
  • I’m a wife.
  • I’m a mom of an energetic little boy.
  • Growing up I was a bookworm.
  • I enjoy sharing with others information about business, finances, and how to earn extra cash online/from home.
